Rules


 
This is a 100% virtual Hackathon.
Participants can be individuals, teams or company.
You can submit any amount of projects.
$20,000 prize is in total.
You can build apps from scratch whatever you want (serverside apps, web-apps, Android mobile apps).
Your application must use MicroStream in any case.
It would be nice if you also use GraalVM and/or Helidon, but using GraalVM and Helidon is not mandatory.
You must publish your own source code under Apache 2 license (dependencies as they are).
You can use any library or framework.
The best 16 MicroStream projects will win a Hackathon prize in money.
You can win even both, a Hackthon prize and in addition to that the Helidon and/or GraalVM award.
All Participants will get a t-shirt.
 

Helidon Award


The application with the best MicroStream integration into Helidon will win the $2,500 Helidon award.
 

GraalVM Award


The application with the best MicroStream showcase using GraalVM will win the $2,500 GraalVM award.

FAQ


 

Who can participate in the Hackathon?


The Hackathon is open to everyone. You can be a individual, team or company. Individuals must be at least 18 years old.
 

What kind of use-case is wanted?


You can build any exciting use-case (whatever you want) that uses MicroStream. It would be nice if you also use GraalVM and/or Helidon, but using GraalVM and Helidon is not mandatory.
 

Can I submit more than one application showcasing?


Yes, you can submit any amount of application showcasing.
 

Can I win a Hackathon prize and in addition to that the Helidon and/or GraalVM award as well?


Yes. You can win for example the 3rd Hackathon prize and in addition to that the Helidon award.
 

Can I win the Helidon or GraalVM award only?


Yes. To win the Helidon or GraalVM award, it's not mandatory that you also win other Hackathon prizes.
 

When does the Hackthon end?


Deadline is February 28, 23:59 CET.
